King Zhou Palace Drama Scene

Cut to the interior of King Zhou’s palace. The vast palace stands with its doors wide open; outside, the wind and rain continue to rage, and strong gusts sweep in through the doorway, causing the candlelight and drapes to flutter. Start with a close-up of their hands. Daji stands beside King Zhou, her arm tightly linked through his. Her hand grips his arm. King Zhou glances down at Daji’s hand. Then King Zhou extends his other hand and gently pats the hand with which Daji is clinging to his arm. The gesture is slow, gentle, and comforting. King Zhou says softly, “You are the only one who remains by my side.” Daji looked up at him, saying nothing, her gaze firm yet lingering. The scene then cuts to a wide shot. The camera is positioned behind the two of them. Daji and King Zhou stand side by side at the entrance to the vast palace, with their backs to the camera. Beyond the palace lies a dark sky, a storm, lightning, and the palace complex in the distance. King Zhou stands at the center of the frame, with Daji leaning against his right side, still draped over one of his arms. King Zhou slowly raises his other hand—the one not held by Daji. His arm rises high from his side toward the front, reaching out toward the storm outside the palace and the world beyond. The wind billows his wide sleeves. King Zhou gazes ahead, his voice firm, commanding, yet tinged with resolve: “Today, I fight for you.” As the final word “fight” echoes, a massive bolt of lightning splits the sky once more. The lightning illuminates the silhouettes of the two figures. The shot lingers for about one second. The scene ends.
